The Art of Production: Sharing

You’ve done it! After countless hours producing, arranging, mixing, and mastering, your track is finished. Now you are faced with the challenge that all musicians have: How are people going to listen to what I’ve made?

These are the top 11 ways to promote and share your music plus a few tips on how to go viral from yours truly.

  1. Share your music on SoundCloud

SoundCloud is one of the largest and best platforms for musicians big and small to promote, distribute, and post music. Using a SoundCloud Pro account, you have a 6 hour upload time, access to advanced stats on your audience, a five-track spotlight, replace tracks. However the best feature with SoundCloud Pro is access to SoundCloud Premier. This service allows you to monetize your tracks and get paid for views through advertisements. Although you don’t get paid much, it might be worth it if you have a steady number of views coming in each month (over 10,000 in total). Recently, SoundCloud has included the feature of being able to distribute a release across a multitude of music streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
